On the occasion of the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union the Veblen Institute, INTERBEV and The Fondation pour la Nature et l’Homme are organizing a high level event :
REINFORCING EXTERNAL TRADE RULES FOR A CONSISTENT EUROPEAN POLICY ENCOURAGING SUSTAINABLE FOOD
The European Union has the duty to make its agricultural, environmental and commercial policies consistent with each other to guarantee a sustainable food supply chain. That is what the European Green Deal is all about.
Enforcing reciprocity of production standards is the only way to achieve such consistency.
The issue of reciprocity has been identified as a priority for the French Presidency of the EU. And the objective is now to establish together the production standards to be required to access the European market.
